Provide a forum for other teachers especially my fellows from the summer 2002 Dante Academy and for future fellows and for anyone interested in "Dante-werk". 3. Students thirst for knowledge about morality and spirituality. I know Dante can give it to them. It had been almost twenty-five years since I had read my first Divine Comedy (the Ciardi trans.), but not school has gone by that I didn't expose my seniors to at least a crumb of Alighieri excerpted in my textbook. I wanted to give them more, maybe not full immersion like I did this summer at the Dante Academy with Arvin Vos and colleagues, but a baptism into genius of Dante. Students need Dante and I am determined to give it to them. ... Link |
